DUTIES & POSITION SUMMARY:
 
        As a customer-facing employee, the Barista represents the brand and culture of Blue Hill Coffee & Tea Co., Auxiliary Services, and Southern Wesleyan University. The Barista is responsible for providing customers with professional, friendly service and excellent products. The Barista strives to serve the SWU community, believing that they can cultivate community and cultivate connection in all they do. No previous experience required
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
a)    Be supportive of Auxiliary Services’ and SWU’s mission, vision, policy, faculty, staff, and students, and be able to display and communicate that support.
b)    Display curiosity, a teachable spirit, and a passion for learning deeper aspects of relevant topics.
c)    Be a hard-working, detail-oriented, self-starting individual who is able to identify solutions to complex problems.
d)    Work well independently and within a team to achieve individual and collective goals.
e)    Have developed people and communication skills and be able to work and communicate effectively in a team and customer service dynamic.
f)     Provide excellent customer service to all guests, displaying the ability to anticipate customer needs and communicate clearly and kindly.
g)    Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customer requests.
h)    Maintain workplace, storage, and seating areas, ensuring spaces are neat and sanitary.
i)      Meet company policies, standards, and regulations in regards to cash handling, safety, and operations.
j)      Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
k)    Be available to work at least 3 two-hour shifts per week with flexible hours that may include mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
 
SCHEDULE:
 
        Be available to work at least 3 two-hour shifts per week with flexible hours that may include mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends. The Barista will report to the Human Resources Intern directly, as well as the Auxiliary Enterprise Manager and Assistant Manager generally. The Barista will be expected to participate in pre-semester trainings, regular staff development meetings, occasional individual meetings with management and/or interns, and occasional evaluations.
